Parkour Fitness Women's Introductory Course - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Parkour Fitness Women's Introductory Course - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

COURSE OVERVIEW

AIM

The aim of this 8-hour course is to introduce trainers, fitness professionals and enthusiasts alike to the core concepts found within the Parkour Fitness education and certification programme, and how those concepts can be applied in a physical training environment and expanded upon to create practical movement-based fitness.  Further, it is also designed to enable practice of some of the fundamental strength, mobility and fitness training methods used by parkour practitioners.

METHOD

The method of the course is a mixture of practical sessions and discussion, both tutor-led and group-based. Learners will be expected to take part in all sessions, as physical experience of the exercises is essential to gain a full understanding of the concepts.

The course will be highly physical and learners should expect to be pushed physically and mentally throughout. It is recommended that learners have a background in strength and fitness and/or some form of movement-based training. Parkour experience is useful, but not required.

OUTCOMES

You will learn the core competencies of Parkour Fitness and experience the physical challenge of true practical movement training while also understanding the science behind why the movement-based training found in parkour is so effective and so useful, creating incredibly adaptable and resilient movers.

By the end of the day you will no longer see the body as a mechanical collection of pulleys, levers and joints, but instead will realise the indivisible, integrated nature of the entire system and understand why it must be trained as such in order for us to reach our potential.

CONTENT

The course covers:

  • Parkour Fitness core competency movements
  • Task-oriented training: why ‘practical’ beats ‘functional’
  • Unique anatomies and personalising movement
  • Jumping, crawling, vaulting and mobile balance drills

You will learn not only how to practise these movements yourself but also how to adapt the training principles to ANY environment and ANY space.

By the end of the course you will find yourself moving in ways you never thought possible, and you will discover your potential to be far more than you imagined – and this will have a positive carry-over into whatever physical activity, discipline or sport you choose to practice.
