Fitness is a meaningless word when taken out of context. We focus on THE function of the human body, not just A function: that means mastering all of your movement, not just arbitrary, limited elements of it.
Parkour Fitness develops all of our natural human locomotion patterns to help people unlock their optimal health, fitness and movement potential.
This two-day course exposes you to the core concepts of parkour and how those concepts can be applied in a fitness training environment and expanded upon to create truly functional movement practice and fitness. You will also learn the fundamental strength and mobility training methods used by parkour practitioners.
The method of the course is a mixture of practical sessions and discussion, both tutor-led and group-based. Learners will be expected to take part in all sessions, as physical experience of the exercises is essential to gain a full understanding of the concepts.
The course will be highly physical and learners should expect to be pushed physically and mentally throughout. It is recommended that learners have a background in strength and fitness and/or movement-based training, and at least one recognised fitness or sports coaching certification. Parkour experience is useful, but not required.
The Level 1 Trainer Course is an introduction to the Parkour Fitness methodology and foundational movements. The course includes instruction on these topics from a certified Master Trainer, as well as hands-on small-group training for the movements and biomechanics. Students’ movements are observed and corrected, and they engage in dialogue concerning effective coaching techniques. Large group Parkour Fitness workouts are conducted as an example of bridging the gap from theory to practice.
By the end of this course you will be able to devise and deliver Parkour Fitness sessions for your clients anywhere and at any time.
