Parkour Fitness Level 2 Trainer Certification Course

Parkour Fitness Level 2 Trainer Certification Course

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Parkour Fitness Level 2 Trainer is the full certification to become a qualified Parkour Fitness Specialist and is a two day course followed by a day of assessments. The Level 2 Certification covers more advanced progressions of the foundational movement areas, focusing on redefining what we mean by ‘agility’, healthy linear and non-linear mobility patterns, spatial awareness exercises and the importance of adaptability and avoiding routine.

The course also has a strong emphasis on the importance of integrating mind and body for healthy movement and how to achieve this in group and solo training sessions. The course involves progression modules for all of the foundational movements introduced during the Level 1 as well as more advanced training methods and movement skills.

The method of the course is a mixture of practical sessions and discussion, both tutor-led and group-based. Learners will be expected to take part in all sessions, as physical experience of the exercises is essential to gain a full understanding of the concepts.

The course will be highly physical and learners should expect to be pushed physically and mentally throughout. Participants must possess the Level 1 Parkour Fitness Award.

The Level 2 Trainer Course is an in-depth study into the Parkour Fitness concepts and applications. The course includes instruction on these topics from a certified Master Trainer, as well as hands-on small-group training for the movements and biomechanics. Students’ movements are observed and corrected, and they engage in dialogue concerning effective coaching techniques. The focus is on 1-1 tuition and personal training, including how to programme for Parkour Fitness and how to adapt the training for different learner types and experience.

The Course has two primary goals:

  • Certify candidates to instruct Parkour Fitness at a high level and deliver practical movement screenings and assessments.

  • Prepare trainers to deliver appropriate programming and support for any athlete or learner.

PREREQUISITES

Level 1 Parkour Fitness Award.

COURSE LENGTH

The Level 2 Certification spans 3 days and involves an assessment day of delivering Parkour Fitness as both a group training and a personal training paradigm as well as a Parkour Fitness Competence Assessment; which evaluates a trainer’s ability to demonstrate and perform the movements to a sufficient level.
