Parkour Fitness Level 1 Trainer Certification: London 2-3 March 2024

Parkour Fitness Level 1 Trainer Certification: London 2-3 March 2024

The Level 1 Certification provides introductory education to the fundamental principles, concepts and movements of Parkour Fitness.

Fitness is a meaningless word when taken out of context. We focus on THE function of the human body, not just isolated, individual functions: that means mastering all of your movement, not just arbitrary, limited elements of it. Parkour trains you to run, jump, climb, crawl, swing, roll, vault and more, and to integrate all those natural motor skills into one amazing movement athlete.

Parkour Fitness always takes a task-oriented approach to training. Through integrating the body and mind to accomplish actual movement tasks and challenges we tap into our holistic, natural potential and begin to access those optimal ‘flow states’ right from the first session.

You’ll soon realise that you can achieve and perform far more than you ever thought possible, developing elite levels of strength, power and agility as you do so.

Our programmes give you the tools to apply parkour movement science to any training protocol to develop truly practical and integrated movement skills and a body/mind that can adapt to any challenge.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The aim of this two-day course is to expose trainers to the core concepts of parkour and how those concepts can be applied in a fitness training environment and expanded upon to create truly functional movement practice and fitness. Further, it is also designed to convey the fundamental strength and mobility training methods used by parkour practitioners.

The method of the course is a mixture of practical sessions and discussion, both tutor-led and group-based. Learners will be expected to take part in all sessions, as physical experience of the exercises is essential to gain a full understanding of the concepts.

The course will be highly physical and learners should expect to be pushed physically and mentally throughout. It is recommended that learners have a background in strength and fitness and/or movement-based training, and at least one recognised fitness or sports coaching certification. Parkour experience is useful, but not required.

The Level 1 Trainer Course is an introduction to the Parkour Fitness methodology and foundational movements. The course includes instruction on these topics from a certified Master Trainer, as well as hands-on small-group training for the movements and biomechanics. Students’ movements are observed and corrected, and they engage in dialogue concerning effective coaching techniques. Large group Parkour Fitness workouts are conducted as an example of bridging the gap from theory to practice. These workouts provide examples of how to:

  • Conduct a group training session.

  • Integrate practical movement concepts into training.

  • Vary intensity accordingly and safely.

  • Scale movements and intensity for any ability level.
